Prayer for Peace Negotiations (June 28, 2013)

God, our Father, source of all that we are, we pray this day for those men and women engaging in discussions for peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

We pray specifically for United States Secretary of State John Kerry.

We prayer for all Palestinian and Israelis whose lives have ended or been diminished because of this conflict too long unresolved because of our world’s lack of will for peace.

For Jesus, our Brother, gives all that he is so that we may have lives abundant in love and joy, hope and reconciliation. We know that with you all things are possible. With faith in Your love and goodness, we pray that this is the beginning of a new day on the path that Jesus has made possible for all of God’s Children.

We pray that the Holy Spirit would move among all us, especially those meetings this week in Jerusalem and Amman to help the opportunities for peace and the goodness that peace makes possible be seen.  We pray that the Holy Spirit would move in our hearts and minds so that we would be promoters of peace through our actions of love for both Israelis and Palestinians.

God, we pray that the time for violence and oppression has come to an end, and that the time for peace and the things that make for peace will truly begin.

In the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we pray. Amen.
