Advocacy Conference - 2013
Dr. Bob Roberts, Jr. was the luncheon plenary speaker at CMEP's Advocacy Conference this May. Participants heard a new and leading voice in how people of faith can rely on God's strength and love to envision a future of hope and real possibility.
"You should know that as an evangelical I support Israel and always will," said Pastor Roberts when he met with Egypt's President Morsi in September 2012, "but I also support the two state solution...and I equally support the Palestinian people." (From Pastor Bob's blog on glocal.net.)
Peacemakers from across the United States joined together at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. May 20th and 21st to pray and learn to effectively advocate for peace in the Holy Land at the annual Advocacy Conference. Nearly two hundred CMEP advocates to gathered at the Edward J. Pryzbyla Center at The Catholic University of America, Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church and throughout Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Click here to see the conference flyer.
On Monday participants received updates about the situation on the ground from some of the most knowledgeable people in the field and learned how to work in their communities around the country.
On Tuesday, attendees gathered at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church for the Congressional Prayer Breakfast then headed out for meetings with Congress to promote peace and security for all the people of the Holy Land.
The energy of our supporters sustains us every day as we work to lift up Christian voices calling for a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that includes justice, dignity and security for all peoples. Please help us continue our work by giving a gift for peace.
