Dear CMEP friends,

Right now hope for Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking seems downright fanciful. The collapse of the Palestinian government and vicious factional fighting this summer is a deeply discouraging development whose full impact is still unknown.

But I hope you haven’t given up, because we haven’t! Beyond the recent headlines is some encouraging progress. There is a new and growing recognition among key Members of Congress that the unresolved and festering conflict between Israelis and Palestinians is a serious problem that must be addressed. As you can see from CMEP's new "Congressional Record of Support for Israeli-Palestinian Peacemaking" our work is finally bearing fruit.

During times of crisis, there are new opportunities to open minds and hearts.  And, that is exactly what CMEP is doing right now.

Your donation to CMEP is especially helpful during tough times like these. With violence growing even more, our voice for peace is more urgent than ever.

With the presidential campaigns in full swing, CMEP is launching a major campaign to educate the candidates of both parties on the need for a balanced policy that addresses the basic needs of both Israelis and Palestinians. And, we’re continuing our vital work in the halls of Congress, to take advantage of the growing congressional support for Israeli-Palestinian peace.

CMEP’s not stopping. And, I hope you’re not either. With your support, we will confront the opponents of peace where it counts – in the halls of Congress and the White House. And, with your support, I know we can prevail.
