CMEP Launches Search for Director

~ April 23, 2007~

At the end of 2007, I will retire from Churches for Middle East Peace. The CMEP Board is busy preparing for the transition and has prepared the job description posted below. We encourage you to bring this opportunity to the attention of potential applicants. The deadline for applications is June 30, by email to jobs@cmep.org.

I began working for the church coalition in July of 1986, nearly 21 years ago, and have participated in CMEP's growth in membership to include Catholic organizations and Orthodox churches and growth in influence among Washington policymakers. In spite of many setbacks and violent tragedies, I remain optimistic that Israeli-Palestinian peace can be achieved and that the CMEP coalition of churches has an essential role in pressing our government toward constructive policies.

Being Director of CMEP is a wonderful experience of collaborative work with deeply committed people and the opportunity to be an advocate for peace and justice. I look forward to these final months of my service to CMEP and will join with you in welcoming the incoming Executive Director.

Sincerely,

Corinne Whitlatch

Executive Director
